After months of my skin constantly breaking out, I decided to make an appointment with a dermatologist after my three year old told me that I'm "getting a lot of pimples". I've used almost every over the counter treatment available with mixed results. Those that worked were way too harsh to my skin and left it dry and red.
The dermatologist prescribed two different creams - one for the evening and one for the morning. The morning cream, called Duac, was harder to get a hold of than some controlled substances. After 3 days, they finally found it in a different pharmacy. Apparently that formulation is now discontinued. So, of course, it will work out great and then I will never be able to get it again.
The second cream is Differin gel. I actually used Differin back in 1998 with mixed results, but this dermatologist wants me to try it again.
So far, results are good. I'm pleased that things seem to be clearing up, and with only a small amount of dryness. I'll post some updates in a few weeks!
