These last few days of 2008 are when the typical "best of 2008" lists come out. Of course, not everything on those lists represents my personal best of 2008 -- and since it's all about me, here are my personal top moments of 2008.
- The election of Barack Obama - regardless of your political viewpoints, the historical ramifications of his election are truly monumental. I did vote for him, and that makes it even more special.
- My selection to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel - okay, so technically, I'm on the 2009 panel, but my selection, and the amazing training experience all happened this year. The odds of making it were almost impossible, and I never actually imagined it would happen. What a great year this will be! And, the other 15 panels are amazing people I now consider very good friends.
- My change in work schedule/jobs - after 10 years at the same company, this was a huge change for me. I'm so happy and pleased with how it's turned out so far! I love working in the nonprofit sector, and my flexible schedule is perfect for my family.
- My writing - this is the first year that I was actually paid for writing and editing, and I'm shocked that it has happened.
- Entertainment - from Twilight (my sister got my hooked), to this past season of Lost, to great music, this year has definitely recovered from the writers strike from earlier this year.
