Jodi 411

Here's what's going on with me this week...

  1. I have a blog post in my mind, and it's good. So, so good -- a story that would definitely entertain you. It's an absolute classic story. Unfortunately, it's not my story to tell, and so I can't.... move along, nothing to see here...
  2. My daughter had an allergic reaction on Saturday, after eating a banana, chocolate chip muffin with walnuts. She's had all of those ingredients before, so I have no idea what caused the reaction. She broke out in hives after just a few small bites. Thank goodness for Benadryl, which eliminated the hives immediately.
  3. Has anyone tried the exercise program ChaLEAN Extreme? I'd really like to try it -- I love Turbo Jam. But it doesn't fit it with the no-spend challenge.
  4. Speaking of the no-spend challenge, I did spend a little bit. But I'm still happy with our progress!
  5. I leave you with this photo -- what in the world has been stomping through my backyard?

Here's what has been going on with me for the past week.

  • This month, my family is doing the no-spend challenge over on Mom Advice. Read more about our efforts on my post at Fix My Budget.
  • Snow, snow, and more snow -- every winter, I realize how much I hate the winter, yet I still don't even consider moving.
  • Have I mentioned that I lost my freelance editing job? It happened two weeks after I quit my other part-time job. I'm sad, not only because of the money (which of course I needed) but because I really liked it. I was essentially laid off, but they may re-evaluate, which I really hope happens.
  • I have my trip to the Mom2.0 Summit booked, and I'm really looking forward to it!

Here's what's going on in my life this week:

  • Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred - if this doesn't kill me it will definitely whip me into shape. There are three different workouts at three different levels. It's recommended that you start at level 1, and I did, assuming I would easily complete the exercise. Umm.... I was wrong. Very wrong. The next day, I could hardly move my arms. And, my abs, ouch. A week into it, I'm actually doing better. It's supposed to be done daily, but due to my stomach bug, I'm skipping a few days.
  • Turbo Jam - yes, it's tacky, and was on an infomercial (don't judge) but it's actually a really fun exercise. I usually combine one of the 30-day Shred workouts with the 20-min Turbo Jam.
  • Parents and Kids Magazine - I'm working with the editor of this local magazine in planning her Disney vacation. You can check out the first installment here.
