Evaluating my Mommy-worth

Four years and one month ago, my daughter started daycare. We were barely functioning -- our days were - wake up, breastfeed, get ready for work, drop off at daycare, go to work, head home, pick up from daycare, eat dinner, breastfeed, put her to bed, wash and prep pump supplies for the morning, sleep, and repeat.

The week of Valentine's Day, I dropped my daughter off at daycare and was given a project -- decorate a heart for my daughter for daycare. Homework -- for me -- from daycare.

I didn't have time to decorate that heart. I was tired, stressed, and worn down. But, I stayed up late and did it, because I didn't want to fail as a mom. Of course, my then four month old wasn't exactly aware of my handiwork.

Fast forward four years. It's Valentine's Day week again, and again, my mommy-ness must be proven -- this time with snacks for the big preschool Valentine's Day party and Valentine's Day cards. I'm not really a baker, and I'm not really all that crafty. But this year, I'm more secure. I agreed to bring fruit salad and juice boxes, and the cards are all store bought character cards.

But I know I'm still a good mommy, right?
