After many years of working full time, outside of the home, I am now a full fledged stay at home mom. I'm still not sure how the adjustment will work for all of us, to be honest, but I did know that something had to give.
I loved my job - it was in the field I had studied years for, for a great company, and working with some of the most amazing people around. Before I had my second child, I couldn't even imagine leaving. But once he was born, the balancing act became impossible and started to wear me and my husband down.
While I've been working, my kids have been in daycare. And while it's not the perfect solution, for the most part, they have been very happy there. But, once they get home, their craving for attention from us just shows us how much they miss us. It's sad, and didn't make working outside the home any easier.
When my job was moving out of state, it made the decision that much easier. So, now, I stay home everyday. I am committed to helping to educate my kids, to have fun, and to give them as much attention as they crave. Wish me luck!
