Anyone who has purchased an electronics item has probably faced this - the inevitable "hard sell" of add on warranties and batteries at the register. I'm sure that the staff at electronics stores are given bonuses and sales goals for selling these additional products and services, but it's incredibly annoying to customers.
Last year I purchased a new laptop. While looking at the computers, the salesperson highly recommended this Toshiba I'm now using. He said it was highly reliable, yet when I finally decided to buy it and was at the register, he suddenly changed his opinion, and recommended the extended warranty, citing potential problems.
Yesterday, when I finally got my hands on a Wii, the salesperson tried to sell me an extended warranty, a set of batteries, and a Toys R Us credit card. These aggressive sales tactics make me want to do all of my electronics shopping online!
